ABOUT METHOD MADE:

The Method Made team specializes in fully integrated projects that are creatively driven by our award-winning Directors, Art Directors, and Designers.  The group focuses on live action, high-end design work and design driven VFX.  The team continually strives to push the boundaries of creativity, and produce the highest quality, attention-getting work.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Producer is a management position responsible for the vision and success of the Method Made team.  Key to the role is the ability to identify, strategize and generate new business for the Method Made group and Method as a whole.

 

The EP must develop an excellent understanding of Method Made & Method Studios’ strategic goals and be instrumental in increasing sales and in encouraging greater bottom-line profitability. The EP is primarily a client facing role, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to foster and develop extremely strong client relationships.  The Method Made EP is responsible for all Method Made projects including end-to-end production.

The EP manages the direct client relationships, is the key client contact and is the escalation point responsible for the overall production budget, P&L, and group profitability.

MAIN DUTIES:

The ideal candidate will manage the current projects and accounts, as well as grow the business by working with the Managing Director, Sales Reps and EPs.  The EP will ensure projects are produced within approved budgets and deadlines. They will work to develop close relationships with clients and participate in the process of hiring crews, talent, and outside vendors when necessary. 

  • Highly proactive in winning new business with a focus on Method Made projects.

  • Generate and maintain revenue for the company through client relationships, strategizing with Sales Reps/Managing Director/EPs/Head of Production to identify new accounts and new ways to win business.

  • Bidding new projects; managing the budget, overseeing the pitch/treatment, and managing the pitch process through project award.

  • Provide support to the Method Made team and ensure excellent communication and the careful handover of projects from the bidding stage to the line production stage of each project.

  • Help to promote the Design Team to the larger industry, and develop sales strategies, promotional ideas, and new ways of thinking to enhance the status of the team within the industry.

  • Oversight of any live action shoots, including working with hired line producers to accurately bid shoots and track them so they come in on or under budget.

  • Work alongside Design leadership and other key partners in searching for new talent.

  • Monitor the satisfaction of existing clients and ensure they continue to use Method Made.

  • Work closely with our reps, EP team and Method Studios LA team to ensure the best communication regarding bidding and execution of projects, to ensure we take full advantage of sales/project opportunities and that Method resources are as well utilized as possible. The EP will work very closely with the Resource Management team and Design producers to ensure the right creative is attached to each project.

  • Encourage and mentor the growth of early career/developing producers, coordinators, and artists.

  • Work closely with scheduling to ensure the design team as fully utilized and booked on projects.

  • Work closely with our reps to help define potential clients, sales/marketing opportunities and PR goals both on a short term and a long term 'bigger picture' basis.  

  • Manage the budgets for each project from start to finish, and ensure proper overages are being presented when needed. 

  • Help the producers to maintain profit margin for each project bid.

  • Work with the Managing Director to establish all project margins, budgets, and discounts.

  • Work with legal/security to ensure compliance, all processes are considered, and all projects are run above board and by the book.

  • Work with Accounting to ensure billing for each project is properly done in accordance with the client’s needs.

  • Communicate changes in projects to department leads and management.

  • Maintain a positive client relationship through both written and verbal communication as well as high levels of customer satisfaction by accurately fulfilling client needs and resolving client issues accurately, on time, and with high quality.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage resource allocation with scheduling for all pitches/treatments as part of the pitch process.

  • Build senior client relationships for key Method strategic accounts and drive revenue as an individual lead and via the wider team.

  • Ensure you and the team are developing long-term commercial relationships with key brands in addition to the ongoing pipeline of project-based revenue.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop creative production solutions in response to client briefs and ensure high standards of creative excellence.

  • Tracking and analysis of pitch conversions. Applying learnings of where we succeed and where we fail.

  • Attend pre-production meetings and raise any concerns to the appropriate stakeholders as an account executive would do at an agency, being that they are client-facing and running the relationship.

     

    WHAT YOU BRING:

  • An understanding of end-to-end production and VFX/CG, Design, and Live action production. Ideally, you will have 10+ years of experience in these fields, but we will still consider strong applications with less.

  • Confident speaker and presenter.

  • International client experience would be an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of the live action production process.  Experience working on and assisting to bid live action shoots.  Ability to read an AICP bid, and review production bids and guidelines.

  • Passion for emerging and future technology in content production and delivery.

  • Detail-oriented, take-ownership attitude, highly organized in time management to facilitate involvement in multiple projects.

  • Strong interpersonal and proactive problem-solving skills

  • Experience overseeing a design team comprised of Creative Directors, Directors, Designers, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of various types of design work.

  • Experience working with Directors and helping them put together treatments that will win the company new work.

  • Experience in a fast-paced post-production environment.

  • Strong experience in a supervisory role at an agency or studio.

  • Ability to create and maintain a positive working environment and to motivate the team to contribute at their highest and most efficient capacity.

  • Strong computer skills, including experience using MS Office.  Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and Avid experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are needed. 

  • Proven planning and problem-solving abilities are required.

  • Very strong ability to identify clear priorities and to meet department goals.

  • The ability to work flexible hours if needed.

  • Ability to travel as needed, and to attend client outings including lunches, events, parties, etc.

  • Experience with CETA a plus.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Revenue figures are on target or exceeded.

  • Resources and teams are utilized to full potential.

  • Client relationships solidified and developed throughout Method Studios.

  • Meeting revenue targets for Method Made.

  • Increasing brand count of new Direct to Brand clients.

  • Driving repeat business and raising profile from existing and lapsed Method clients (Production companies/agencies & brands)
