Within BWS, we have diverse roles and responsibilities, and each of us contributes to the same mission of reliably providing New York City with its most valuable natural resource.

The Source Water Operations, Watershed Agricultural Program (SWO-WAP) is responsible for overseeing the City’s contracts with the Watershed Agricultural Council (WAC) who is tasked with addressing surface-water quality through land conservation while supporting the economic viability of agriculture and forestry in the watershed region.

This experience will provide the candidate with an overview on many facets of DEP’s water supply operation with an emphasis on the City’s mitigation efforts to protect against agricultural runoff. Experience will also include working with the watershed agricultural and forestry communities, local stakeholders, as well as agency engineers, project managers, and scientists.
