HarperCollins Publishers Assistant Manager, Sales Ops in New York, New York

Overview

HarperCollins is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Sales Operations team. The Assistant Manager will report to the Associate Director, Sales Operations and will support the Sales team in administration of several key functions in the department.

The role includes management of our Adult Trade and Children’s catalogs, lead for planning + execution of our seasonal Sales meetings, and coordination of other essential operational processes to support the Sales team across all divisions.

This role includes collaboration with a multitude of departments and is an opportunity to take a leading role in driving key operational functions for the division.The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is a proactive self-starter, with a strong operational background.

This is a hybrid position based out of our New York office.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Adult + Children’s catalog process, including seasonal catalog build, schedule communication, and all logistics. Works closely with Associate Director, Sales Operations on ongoing enhancements to improve processes in working with other divisions.

  • Coordinates support for supplementary catalog needs, including management of Adult and Children’s thematic catalogs, thematic title lists, and collections.

  • Acts as Lead for training + communicating best practices around new and existing Operations initiatives in the division, including developing presentations and creating process documents for distribution.

  • Oversees the HarperCollins US Edelweiss profile, including handling user access, training new users, and general site maintenance.

  • Manages seasonal Sales meetings, including building schedules + communicating to teams, creating agendas, organizing meeting invites and support as directed.

  • Coordinates presentations during seasonal Sales meetings, including gathering, organizing and distributing presentation materials and managing the presentation schedule.

  • Provides support for Adult + Children’s signed edition + carton and one day laydown processes, including soliciting requests, communicating schedules, and maintaining master coordination grids.

  • Manages one direct report, responsible for several key operations tasks including the print and digital galley programs and sales material support.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in either a Sales or Operations role; publishing experience preferred

  • Must be proactive, detail-oriented and incredibly organized

  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and take initiative

  • Experience with Edelweiss a plus

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

The salary for this position is $62,400-$65,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
