What You Will Do:

The AI Program Lead is accountable for driving Loreal Americas’AI strategy and execution. Work closely with corporate functions, Divisions, Tech Accelerator and Global teams to map the business strategy to AI strategy, and deliver an AI product development roadmap that will enable both our efficiency and growth objectives. This role will lead the AI strategy, governance and implementation, driving alignment and investment of budget and resources to the highest priority AI/ML/Gen AI use cases while partnering with Global CoE & Tech Accelerator team. The Ideal candidate has CPG, Hi Tech or other B2C/B2B/B2BC domain experience overseeing AI strategy & implementation across diverse business needs covered by a multitude of AI products. And possesses a deep understanding of what it takes to apply AI/Gen AI to business processes across Digital, Sales, Supply Chain, Research & Innovation and Internal corporate needs. This role requires a balance of (a) excellent cross functional relationship management, senior executive facing communication and presentation skills and (b) Strong technical skills to lead and build credibility with AI engineering team and partner data science team respectively.

  • Implement a multi-year AI roadmap to enable the transformation of LUSA into an AI-enabled business while delivering significant advancements in business decision-making, efficiency, and productivity at every stage

  • Collaborates with business, beauty tech and corporate stakeholders on measurement of ROI, adoption of capabilities and prioritization of releases

  • Evaluate all new areas for AI investments, applying a prioritization framework to optimize investment of organizations’ budget and resources

  • Adapting the global strategy, develop and lead the AI strategy for Americas, aligning AI solutions to both efficiency and growth use cases

  • Establish the L’USA AI Taskforce to address zonal specificities via a combination of building bespoke solutions, buying fit for purpose Off The Shelf and rolling out globally developed solutions.

  • Guide the Build, Buy decisions, clarifying areas for internal research & investment

  • Design and implement the solution quality control processes, including both automated pipelines and manual ones, while ensuring Responsible & Trustworthy AI practices are embedded across the lifecycle

  • Establish ongoing communications and reporting methods with business stakeholders in order to stay aligned on goals and priorities throughout the entire program

  • Lead and participate in research activities to explore and advance state-of-the-art generative AI techniques, covering model selection, integration with internal data, cost management and regulatory compliance

  • People Management of resources directly reporting into this role, as well as mentoring of extended team members from partner teams

    What We Are Looking For:

    Qualifications:

  • Preferred - Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a leader in data science, artificial intelligence, adv. analytics engineering and 10 years building relevant solutions overall

  • Proven track record of applying AI capabilities to solving ambiguous and complex business problems at scale

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a consistent track record of building strong relationships with senior business stakeholders

  • Strong technical prowess to understand, relate to and guide AI engineering and Data Science team members

  • Comfortable to be hands on with POCs, R&D activities and MVPs, to show leadership by example

  • Track record of leading successful AI/ML programs from project initiation through development and implementation, with quantified success metrics

  • Real world experience with applying Responsible & Trustworthy AI practices across design, build and operation of AI solutions.

  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication/presentation skills; ability to influence at the most senior levels

  • Strong bias for action and seeing things through to completion and business application

  • Budget management, project management, vendor management

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to execute in the short term while looking around corners to design for the future.

  • Ability to travel to Mexico, France, Canada & Brazil, 4-6 times a year

  • Highly preferred - Experience operating in a highly cross-functional, multinational business

  • Highly preferred - Strong CPG/Retail/Hi-Tech background and thorough understanding of how to apply innovative Analytics/AI solutions to the business with a clear sense of the value added.
