Robert Half AV Broadcast Engineer in New York, New York

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an AV Broadcast Engineer in New York. This role involves a variety of tasks within the broadcasting industry, including understanding signal paths and diagrams, managing projector settings, and supporting live and recorded events.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and interpret signal paths and charts for effective broadcast engineering

• Manage projector settings and reset light schedules as necessary

• Shadow the Chief Engineer to understand the whole set up

• Provide day-to-day support in addition to managing live events

• Ensure the smooth running of live events, including theatre and recorded events, by handling tasks such as turning lights on and off, managing spotlights and microphones, etc.

• Demonstrate flexibility in managing varying working hours and days, depending on event schedules

• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and understanding of the role

• Bring a variety of experience to the role, rather than being confined to a single aspect for a long period of time. Different projects and exposure are encouraged. Requirements • Proficiency in Audio Visual technology and equipment is mandatory.

• Requires a solid background in Broadcast Engineering.

• Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot and repair AV equipment.

• Must be capable of designing, installing, and maintaining AV systems.

• Familiarity with video conferencing and live streaming technologies.

• The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is essential.

• Strong understanding of signal flow and control systems for AV equipment.

• Experience with the latest AV production and editing software tools.

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and team members.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.

• Must be willing to keep up-to-date with advancements in AV technology.

• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if required.

• Demonstrable ability to manage a team and delegate tasks efficiently.

• Relevant certifications in AV technology or Broadcast Engineering are desirable. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
