Amazon Business Intelligence Analyst in New York, New York

Description

Are you excited to solve business challenges through data analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions?

If so, we are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Deal Tooling and Insights team to help solve business challenges through data analytics. Deal Tooling and Insights team provides tools, process monitoring, and bespoke analysis to our internal customers and help them meet their desired business outcomes while ensuring alignment with AWS business objectives.

In this role, you will harness your business and technical skills to understand business requirements, conduct data analysis and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. You will own suite of metrics for Weekly/Monthly business reporting, establish automated processes for large scale data analyses and create net new metrics to measure the health of the business. You will drive the development of new self-service reporting mechanisms to help scale and optimize the reporting processes across the organization. You will work with Data Engineers, Product Managers and other stakeholders to find ways to measure complex problems and help quantify business impact of various initiatives. You will communicate complex analytical results in a clear and easy-to-understand way and will drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems while considering edge cases and different tradeoffs.

Successful candidates will be analytical with business acumen, and detail-oriented with excellent problem solving skills. A keen sense of end-to-end ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
