Are you ready to prove what’s possible with AWS Startups? AWS Startup Marketing is seeking a technology-obsessed, highly-online content marketer, who’s obsessed with storytelling, grammar, and the editorial process. The Startups Editorial Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, production, and distribution of high-quality content assets including written and video assets that align with the organization's strategic priorities, themes, use cases, and target industries. This role plays a critical role in managing the content lifecycle, from ideation and creation to approval, distribution, and performance tracking.

Key job responsibilities

Content Strategy and Production Management: Manage the content production process to ensure assets are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with the content strategy and organizational priorities. Oversee the content approval process, facilitating input and sign-off from key stakeholders to maintain quality and alignment.

Blog Program Management: Develop and maintain a monthly editorial calendar for the Startup blog, aligning content with priority themes and submission guidelines. Field and manage blog pitches, ensuring adherence to guidelines and quality standards. Collaborate with the social media manager to promote and distribute blog content across relevant channels.

Content Distribution and Channel Management: Collaborate with the social media manager and digital experience manager to ensure content assets are distributed across critical internal and external channels. Manage the content distribution process, ensuring assets and materials are uploaded and deployed to key channels.

Agency Management and Content Repurposing: Manage and oversee agency partners to drive content production and timelines. Identify and repurpose relevant assets from across the AWS organization, partnering with content marketing colleagues to integrate into the overall content journey.

Performance Tracking and Reporting: Report on program performance through monthly business reviews (MBRs) and quarterly business reviews (QBRs), providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Blog Strategy and Operations: Build and manage the organization's blog strategy, editorial calendar, and oversee blog operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality.

• Project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Proficiency in content management systems, analytics tools, and collaboration platforms.

• Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

A day in the life

A typical day for the Editorial Marketing Manager begins with the editorial calendar, ensuring content production is on track. You oversee the content approval process, facilitating meetings with stakeholders to maintain quality and alignment. Collaborating with agency partners is crucial as you provide guidance on content production.

A significant portion of your time is dedicated to managing the blog program, reviewing pitches, and working with the social media team for promotion.

You monitor performance through regular reporting, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Additionally, you manage the organization's blog strategy and operations, developing the editorial direction and ensuring smooth execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns

  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-territory campaign management

  • Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and process

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $70,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $151,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
