Insight Global Demand Planning Manager in New York, New York

Job Description

One of our largest cosmetics clients is looking for a Demand Planning Manager to join their Sale and Operations (S&OP) team in New York City. This individual will help with all duties associated to the finish goods forecast, which includes preparing monthly sales forecasts based on analysis of the brand, creating presentations on the brand's demand review, and hosting meetings with the stakeholders across the business (Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance, HQ Counterparts, etc.) to share the forecast results. The accuracy of the forecasts have a direct impact on the company's supply/inventory and customer service levels. It is essential that this individual takes ownership of the portfolio and provides accuracy to the complex demands of the brand, which can include forecasts of more than 700 SKUs. This person will be transferring a lot of data from Excel into their automated demand planning system, so it is preferable that this person has experience using IBP or been apart of a previous project where they had to transition a large amount of data from one software to another. The ideal candidate for this position has at least 5 years of demand planning experience, preferably from the cosmetics or CPG industry. It is essential that this person has an executive presence and the ability to drive the entire S&OP end-to-end demand cycle, prepare the forecast accuracy, and lead monthly meetings to go over their demand plan. The team is experiencing very high demand and they are counting on this person to join the team and hit the ground running. Some main responsibilities include:

- Prepare and review monthly saleable forecasts with related analysis for the US. The accuracy of the unit forecast has a direct impact on company inventory and customer service levels. Reconcile forecasted units to Gross Sales financial forecasts to ensure reasonableness.

- Work cross-functionally to understand qualitative information from Sales and Marketing, as it affects future unit forecasted demand, including follow-up of out of stocks with supply planning.

- Monthly Forecast Accuracy: Reports results and issue root cause on inaccuracies, ensuring go forward forecast reflects any results.

- Conduct regular business and performance reviews related to demand and supply of low stock skus with internal stakeholders.

- Manage the potential obsolescence to minimize inventory liabilities and drive Root Cause Problem Solving and action planning/execution to reduce E&O.

- Assist DP Lead in preparing for the Monthly Consensus and Executive S&OP meetings with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Sales Ops.

- Prepare and lead monthly Pre-Consensus meetings

- Attend weekly meetings as needed -- Low stock meetings, E&O, etc.

- New launches' forecast preparation working closely with Marketing and Sales

- Other analyses and projects as needed.

Skills and Requirements

- 5+ years of demand planning experience, preferably from the cosmetics or CPG industry

- Bachelors degree in relevant field or related job experience

- Understanding of end-to-end Sales & Operations demand planning process

- Ability to present to senior management on demand plan findings and have an executive presence

- Word, PowerPoint, Excel

- Strong data management and analytical skills.

- Enthusiastic, creative and a team player - APICS exposure and CPIM certification

- Experience using SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) null
