Nexstar Media Group Director, Broadcast Operations – NewsNation NY in New York, New York

Who we are: NewsNation is a national news cable network currently reaching 75+ million television households across the United States. The network is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group (NXST). NewsNation is looking for an experienced Director of Broadcast Operations to help lead operations for national newscasts, based in our New York studios. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a leadership role at a cable or broadcast television network.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

· Oversee all operations staff involved with NewsNation content creation. This may include directors, technical directors, studio and control room staff, in-house and field news editors.

· Build and supervise an operations mid-management team capable of managing a multi-shift broadcast operation.

· Oversee control room and studio scheduling staff.

· Coordinate with key departments within and outside the organization including engineering, traffic, and creative marketing.

· Manage projects and day-to-day newsgathering/news production logistics.

· Operational expense responsibility and personnel planning.

· Work closely with corporate/executive stakeholders to develop and coordinate capital equipment expenditures, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Act as a strategic partner with local and corporate operations and engineering stakeholders and industry-leading equipment manufacturers to evaluate and utilize industry-leading technologies.

· Strategic thinker who can evaluate workflows and processes and solve problems with new procedures and technologies.

· Project management and logistics coordination.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· 10+ years of leadership experience at a cable or broadcast network in technical operations or engineering departments.

· Experience working in a collective bargaining environment with multiple unions a plus.

· A four-year degree in a related field; master's degree or higher preferred.

· Ability to handle multiple time-critical, mission-critical tasks simultaneously.

· Must have a can-do attitude, a pioneering spirit, and relentlessly build relationships.

Salary Range ($200,000-231,000)
