Director, HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., New York, NY:

Support Managing Directors in the Consumer and Retail sector investment banking team in the following areas: coverage of high priority Consumer and Retail clients via the creation and delivery of sector-based content; leading execution of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and capital markets transactions; relationship building with certain commercial banking clients; and collaboration with the Financial Sponsors Group on coverage of high priority private equity clients. Establish a holistic understanding of clients’ needs and deliver innovative high value solutions across all product lines, gaining significant business and sustainable returns for the Group. Build the Global Banking franchise value/reputation in the marketplace. Develop and maintain “trusted advisor” relationships and maintain active dialogue with key decision makers at assigned and target clients. Provide leadership role in deal execution by coordinating various project workstreams across the deal team and ensuring that transactions are completed both in a timely and effective manner and with client satisfaction.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, Pay range: $300,000 to $310,000 per year.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field and at least 8 years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in investment banking.

Qualifying experience must include at least 8 years of experience in:

  • Global deal execution capabilities;

  • Capital markets and M&A transactions including experience with cross-border transactions;

  • Industry expert with experience in various consumer and retail industry verticals such as food & beverage, apparel, retail, agriculture, personal care and household products; and

  • Experience advising large companies on a broad range of strategic advisory assignments such as acquisitions, sell sides, mergers, joint ventures, and equity offerings.

Qualifying experience must include at least 3 years of experience in:

  • Coordinating deal execution and project management with clients, prospective purchasers, and other advisors to facilitate accounting, legal and business due diligence;

  • Managing junior team members in the preparation of detailed analysis in the context of M&A, equity and leveraged buyout transactions including valuation, merger combination, tax and structuring and other financial analysis;

  • Leading the creation of marketing materials for clients regarding investment banking opportunities;

  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and supervision of junior team members; and

  • Origination and execution of ‘event-driven’ or major ‘significant flow’ business.

Qualifying experience must include at least 1 year of experience in Client coverage.

Must have or be able to obtain FINRA licenses in Series 7, 63 and 79.

Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.
