Carbon Lighthouse, Inc. Engineering Project Manager in New York, New York

The Engineering Project Manager’s role is to coordinate and oversee the successful integration of data streaming devices with our Clients’ buildings. This requires collaboration with Client stakeholders, outside vendors and Carbon Lighthouse teammates to track various moving pieces and interdependent actions towards the end goal of establishing a robust stream of equipment-level operating data. A successful candidate is a proactive team player with excellent communication skills who is highly organized and efficient.

The role requires a mindset of continuous improvement such that solutions to today’s challenges become standardized and repeatable, enabling the Engineering Project Manager to tackle the next set of strategic improvements.

*This is a temporary full-time position with the possibility of permanent status and the option to work remotely.

  • Work collaboratively with Clients, Vendors and Teammates in a remote capacity to establish streaming data connections at Client facilities leveraging tools in the Carbon Lighthouse toolkit.

  • Systematically track and report on progress towards setting up data streams, and proactively identify and communicate issues or potential delays.

  • Manage simultaneous complex tasks and projects, across multiple client sites.

  • Manage an inventory of wireless sensor equipment for use at Client locations.

  • Own relationships with key vendors providing products and services related to data collection.

  • Manage automated alerts within a variety of HVAC and Solar PV software systems.

  • Contract vendors and coordinate with Clients for on-site work required to establish data streams.

  • Work with a variety of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) to assess functionality and limitations.

  • Support software team by defining requirements, testing software, and providing regular user feedback.

  • Assist in developing new processes and tools that reduce time or cost, improve client relationships, or increase reliability of integrated solutions.

  • Work in a cross-functional team environment where asking questions and challenging assumptions is necessary due to complex and multi-disciplinary problems.

  • Occasionally participate in field-based sensor deployment or other data collection needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Dedication to Carbon Lighthouse’s environmental mission

  • BS in Engineering (CE, ME, EE, PE, ChE) or similar technical field

  • 2+ years work experience

  • Ability to remain flexible, embrace change, and manage uncertainty

  • Ability to manage simultaneous complex tasks and projects across multiple client sites

  • Accountability mindset

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and timely follow-through

  • Technical aptitude, and ability to rapidly learn and master new concepts

  • Desire to continuously improve our processes and find creative solutions to our operational challenges

  • Must be able to work in the US, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Bonus Qualifications:
