The Gaming Players Services & Operations (GPSO) team is seeking a Gaming Business Manager for our Strategy & Planning team. This role will be a part of the Office of the Chief of Staff and will support leaders across the operational arm of Microsoft Gaming, driving rhythm of business, budget and planning process as well as acting as thought partner to leaders to help identify and take action on opportunities for broader strategic impact.

Responsibilities

  • Drive rhythm of business (ROB) for teams within GPSO for specific leaders, including building and managing agendas, coordinating ROB events with the broader organization, and acting as a liaison between teams and the Chief of Staff office

  • Drive planning and creating of Team level goals and OKRs for your leadership teams with solid alignment with the GPSO OKRs and Gaming OKRs

  • Partner with leadership teams to develop and execute budget and planning processes, managing budget and forecasting rhythms, ensure continuity and coordination with broader Gaming-wide planning processes as well as planning integration across the full organization.

  • Work with cross-team counterparts to manage team participation as required for key business events, fiscal year planning, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities.

  • Drive PO management including approval for your leader(s) throughout the fiscal year

  • Drive special high visibility projects for leadership teams within GPSO and even Gaming wide to bring efficiencies and consistency across the organizations

  • Drive culture initiatives within your leaderships teams with an eye on aligning it with the broader GPSO and Gaming culture efforts

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to define and articulate objectives that are aligned with the strategy and goals of the organization

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, foster compelling relationships that support execution across the business, and offer perspective and point-of-view to leaders on issues ranging from communications to planning to tactical and strategic decisions.

  • Partner with fellow BMs and teams within GPSO and across Gaming to identify or create opportunities for broader strategic impact (e.g. XP Planning)

  • Support the creation/ adoption of systems or tools that enable strategy and data driven trade-offs given limited resources

  • Be a thought partner and an integral part of the leadership team that you support

  • Maximize the use and effectiveness of the leader’s time to drive progress towards business priorities

  • Extend the leader while developing relationships with key staff and partners, communicating the leader’s strategy, providing clarity to stakeholders, and identifying gaps

  • Identify ways to increase yet optimize partner engagement across Gaming to ensure stronger alignment on common goals and objectives with them

  • Lead critical Chief of Staff Office initiatives like Culture, Change Management, University Recruiting, Supplier Diversity, etc.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Engineering) AND 8+ years’ experience in financial management, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, culture or business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Engineering) AND 10+ years’ experience inbusiness planning,financial management, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Engineering) AND 5+ years’ experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roleOR equivalent experience

  • Proficient detail-oriented analytical thinking skills and an ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results

  • Proficient communications skills and an ability to engage with colleagues ranging from executives to individual contributors

  • Expereience/knowledge in gaming a plus

  • Passionate interest in building relationships and culture across the organization

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, significant rolling changes

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams

  • Financial experience planning and managing budgets

Business Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
