Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations, and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation.

The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) supports the Department by acquiring, distributing, installing and maintaining Local Area Networks, personal computers, mainframe computers, software, and data communications, networks. ITSD also plans and coordinates the implementation of advanced technology.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for monitoring workflows/integrations jobs in various technologies including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE,

Java, .Net, Moodle, SharePoint, SQL, Power Automate.

  • Respond quickly to job failures by determining the general cause of the problem and remediate.

  • Use DevOps for automating deployment and release management.

  • Require occasionally to migrate applications to the production and Disaster recovery environment.

  • Document problems, set up job flow dependencies, and execute/troubleshoot flows on Test environment.

  • Troubleshoot integration issues between SharePoint, CRM, Power Platform, and home-grown applications.

  • Develop and maintain standards and guidelines for implementing automated processes.

  • Oversee configuring of IT automation and monitoring tools at an enterprise level.

  • Liaise with vendors regarding new automation framework and monitoring tools,

  • Ensure security of Production systems.

  • Ensure compliance with agency standards.

  • Propose updates to agency standards in line with industry best practices.

  • Oversee major upgrades, including documentation and training.

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; or

  2. Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure;

  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
