Manager of Unix Engineering (New York, NY): Develop an understanding of Unix platform technologies currently in use & the business use cases that they serve; identify white spaces in them & evaluate how they can be mitigated; Continuously improve UNIX platforms to develop a roadmap for collaborative scalable org.; Evaluate the UNIX platform svcs. technologies market, analyze impact on employee production & regularly evolve roadmaps for these UNIX platforms; Formulate strategies on how UNIX platforms can improve employee satisfaction & productivity; Identify how public cloud providers can simplify, improve, automate or lessen ongoing operational costs. REQS: Bachelor’s in computer science. Prior exp. must include: 5 yrs progressive exp w/distributed sys. tech including server, storage, enterprise monitoring tools arch.; w/managing multiple projects & initiatives; w/managing industry vendor relationships; w/translating complex technical info & implications into business-oriented language; w/developing arch. review board governance structure; w/apps. and hardware including AIX, VIO, HACMP, Linux, VMWare, TSM, Solaris, IBM P-Series; 3 yrs exp w/supporting IT operating & capital budgets in excess of $1M; w/managing a team of 4+ staff. Progressive experience is demonstrated by advancement toward increasingly complex or responsible duties.
