We are looking for a talented Principal Full-Stack Engineer as Yahoo Finance undergoes a period of rapid innovation and expansion. A successful candidate will thrive with having high autonomy and agency. They will balance innovative and pragmatic approaches to integrating next-generation services and implementing frontend solutions for Yahoo Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the hands-on development of next-generation features for Yahoo! Finance with a focus on personalization and community.
  • Define, scope, plan, and implement best-in-class software practices, procedures, and delivery.
  • Contribute to implementation guidelines and execution strategy for your team's goals.
  • Collaborate with your peers, product managers, and engineering leaders on new features and enhancements.


Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS and CSS preprocessors (SCSS, etc).
  • Experience with Typescript (or Javascript) and Node.
  • Strong working, development, and deployment knowledge of modern web-based tech, such as React, Vue, Svelte, etc
  • Familiarity with full-stack web frameworks like NextJS, Nuxt, SvelteKit, etc (or similarly equivalent tech)
  • Experience consuming RESTful, GraphQL, or equivalent APIs for user facing applications.
  • Well-versed in software development design patterns, code structure and debugging tools.
  • Experience mentoring software engineers and leading by example.
  • Strong team player-you are genuinely interested in opposing opinions and can support your own perspectives with thoughtful reasoning.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills; able to communicate team and project goals clearly.

The compensation for this position ranges from $143, 625.00 - $299, 375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
