Scholastic Senior Salesforce Developer – Technical Lead in New York, New York

Job Description:


The Senior Salesforce Developer will be responsible for building world-class applications on the Salesforce platform. The Senior Developer will also own the oversight of the development team ensuring code and solution quality and sustainability within Salesforce and the platforms with which it is integrated.


Core Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to determine business, functional and technical requirements

  • Participate in efforts to develop Salesforce feature and applications

  • Utilize best practices to perform operational support, enhancements, bug fixes as needed to the Salesforce platform

  • Provide technical assistance and end user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and “how-to” assistance.

  • Performs regular code reviews and offer feedback and suggestions

  • Effectively manage the development and testing teams and provide guidance and mentorship where needed

  • Be able to communicate development progress to senior management

  • Be accountable for team deliverables

  • Understand Salesforce Apex Governor Limits and be able to identify bottlenecks in the current implementation

  • Closely work with Director of Engineering on user stories that need special attention due to complexity and/or business impact

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related major

  • 2+ years of experience as a Senior Developer or an Architect in a mid to large-sized organization with demonstrated leadership driving an organizational transformation in a matrixed organization

  • 5+ years of professional object-oriented development experience

  • Experience with key areas of technical architecture, including integration technologies, single sign-on, and master data management

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I certification

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Proficiency with modern IDEs (VSCode, IntelliJ) and SCM tools (Git, SVN)

  • Proficiency with relational databases, data modeling, and SQL

  • Proficiency with Agile, Scrum, or other iterative development methodologies

  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and development tools

  • A creative mindset to apply innovative approaches to software design

  • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer
