Sales Prod Eng & Ops (SPEO) org is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to help us build custom software solutions across our platform.

Key job responsibilities

You will be designing and developing automated solutions that help guarantee the software quality across a wide range of devices and web. You will be working on tools and infrastructure challenges involving big data and large scale back-end web services, all with the goal of delivering seamless experience to the customer.

A successful candidate will have an interest in developing automated solutions for consumer-facing products, strong technical ability, excellent organizational skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

A day in the life

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be designing and developing automated solutions that help guarantee the software quality across a wide range of devices and web. You will be working on tools and infrastructure challenges involving big data and large scale back-end web services, all with the goal of delivering seamless experience to the customer.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

New York, NY, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
