Description We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Accountant to join our legal team based in NEW YORK, New York. The role involves the efficient processing of financial reports, budget preparation, and ensuring accurate financial records. The Sr. Accountant will also be responsible for assisting with audits and providing operational support for the General Ledger.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process monthly and quarterly financial reports, including Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
• Assist with the creation of budgets and monitor monthly expenditures.
• Prepare schedules for year-end reviews and audits.
• Generate standard and non-standard recurring month-end journal entries for review and approval.
• Provide guidance to operations team on General Ledger coding.
• Conduct a monthly review of General Ledger transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Cover for Accounts Payable when required.
• Verify employee and client information in the financial system.
• Confirm benefit and headquarter state information in the financial system for tax purposes.
• Assist with managing credit card administration and process expense reimbursements and monthly credit card charges.
• Work closely with finance team members to complete various accounting tasks.
• Create ad hoc reports as necessary.
• Undertake additional finance related tasks as assigned. Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting field
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Account Reconciliation
• Proven expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Hands-on experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Proficient in managing General Ledger
• Ability to prepare and adjust Journal Entries
• Must be adept in using Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential
• Familiarity with Aderant is a plus
