Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • At Con Edison we have, and we all need to take special interest in our customers, both within the company and externally. Develop a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers and improve value for all Company stakeholders.

  • Plan, assign, and direct the workflow of the clerical staff and evaluate their performance.

  • Oversee construction permits are being ordered, tracked, and managed in a timely manner to reduce violations from the NYC Department of Transportation.

  • Ensure that direct reports complete all Steam Operation Mapping Information System (SOMIS) updates, and discrepancies addressed with Steam Distribution Engineering (SDE).

  • Expedite all assign purchase orders of material and equipment.

  • Conduct periodic review to assure that vendors meet all contractual requirements including monitoring vendor fabrication and/or manufacturing schedules.

  • Follow up with vendors or Stores, as necessary to maintain current inventory of materials.

  • Coordinate special transportation arrangement for emergency shipments, such as air freight, exclusive truck, or courier services.

  • Follow up with Engineering, Purchasing, and requesting department to ensure that all required actions are taken to results in a timely delivery.

  • Issues monthly reports identifying production status, problem areas and projected delivery dates.

  • Coordinates the Incident Action Plan (IAP) for potential rain even and respond as a vapor patroller whenever required.

  • Provide support for SD meetings, including scheduling, tracking attendance, and making any future scheduling changes or cancellations. Such meeting includes All Hands, GM staff, VP site visit, SD & SDE collaboration meeting etc.

  • Work with managers to create and finalize presentations for above mentioned meetings.

  • Manage the Physical Ability Test (PAT) schedule and working with HR to ensure we have SD candidates and working with the proctors to identify which proctor can support the PAT.

  • Support the hiring process including coordinating interview schedule with HR and tracking new hire status.

  • Act as a SD Damage Coordinator and follow guidance and procedure when our company's property is damaged.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years related experience or

  • Associate's Degree and 4 years related experience or

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years related experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Business or Management and 2 years related experience in Steam Operations or similar area

  • Associate's Degree and 4 years related experience in Steam Operations or similar area

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years related experience in Steam Operations or similar area

Relevant Work Experience

  • Must be a team player and have the ability to interact with all levels of management in various operating areas. Required

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Required

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills as well as computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. Required

  • Knowledge of procurement software's such as; Oracle, Procurement Management System (PMS). Preferred

  • Knowledge of permit ordering software, and knowledge of using MAXIMO. Preferred

  • Supervisory experience. Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required
