Job Overview:
The Outreach Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff members in the performance of their duties and assisting the Screening Program Director in the administration of a 24 hour operation. Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in assigning employee labor. Responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate support personnel and for consistently setting and evaluating priorities. Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing employee labor. Makes recommendations regarding the ongoing performance evaluation of supervised staff and resulting actions (i.e. reward, discipline, discharge, etc.)
Qualifications:
Required:
Master degree or enroll in Master Degree program in social work, psychology or related clinical field.
Certified New Jersey Mental Health Screener or mental health experience required to immediately be eligible for Screening Certification requirements.
Must possess the ability to work in stressful situations. Supervisory experience preferred

Essential Functions:
Acts as liaison to community agencies, law enforcement and patient s families to effect outreach within the assigned geographic area of Essex County. Demonstrates ability to communicate clinical information effectively with the Screening psychiatrist and specialty practice physicians. Demonstrates professional behavior according to hospital codes in section Conduct for Patients/Customers in the Employee Handbook
Ensure that staff is able inquire and speak to patient and/or families about the psychiatric Advance directive and the Well and Recovery model. Participates in providing annual community based education to Essex County agencies. Participates in behavioral health education projects i.e., NBIMC Behavioral Health Conferences. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports in a timely manner (prior to end of shift
Provides direct patient care on-site and off-site during high volume. Complete staff Scheduling as well as staff meeting. Responsible for Shift supervision of designated Screening Center. Supervises the triage of in-coming clients to maintain timely flow of patients from Emergency Department to PESS. Help facilitate assignment of cases to staff members as appropriate
Screening Document reflects clear description of patient s mental illness and level of dangerousness as per Screening Law and guidelines from DMHS Certification training
Supervises and develops the implementation of treatment plans for patients based upon the team assessment, conduct 100% chart review and complete patient tracers
