We are seeking an ambitious and motivated individual to help to lead and further develop our digital design, BIM and digital engineering capability within our UK&I Water & Energy teams.

Our busy multi-disciplinary teams work on a diverse range of projects across the regulated and non-regulated sectors of water and energy - you will play an integral role in making transformative digital improvements to the innovative solutions that we provide to clients and engage with a global community of 26,000 to ensure solutions meet client needs.

You will have a primary responsibility to support the major projects, technical/design services and digital Communities of Practice (CoP) teams in Newcastle and to connect with other UK&I technical leaders to advance our water digital delivery capability. You will also collaborate with regional and global communities of practice to support and advance capability across our Community Development, Transport, Building & Energy sectors.

Under the guidance of the Major Projects and/or Digital CoP lead and collaborating with other CoP leaders with digital remits, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, advising, and directing others throughout the project lifecycle of the BIM and digital requirements for projects across the UK & Ireland.

You will take ownership of the implementation and management of ‘design delivery’ (which may include behaviours, technology, and process) on projects during concept, design, construction and handover, supporting our longer-term goal of securing BIM Level 2 and ISO19650 Certification and mentoring/supporting other Stantec sectors through active participation in ourDigital Practice Group.

You will review and improve our end-to-end digital design, engage in our information management processes and how we implement solutions for future growth. You will have experience in leading teams and collaborating with various stakeholders – understanding issues and working as a team to initiate improvements to our digital delivery capability so that it becomes business as usual.

You will implement a change process, using established principles, programmes, and behaviours, supported by the leadership team, to ensure that Stantec project teams are digital by default, that our systems and data are structured and enabled for technology to drive insights to support our SMEs.

You will work with Design, Project and Management Teams to review project objectives before and during project delivery, creating, establishing and validating project EIRs, BEPs, other associated design deliver documents and procedures, including managing communication, and working with Information Managers to embed appropriate information exchange/flow.

A key part of your role will be working with our Head of Digital Services and community of practice/discipline digital Leads to support the execution of our UK Digital Strategies as well as mentoring, developing others, onboarding, and leading our training initiatives to maintain and improve our digital delivery.

You may be tasked with leading and managing small teams to deliver innovative solutions to our clients, in an efficient and technology forward manner.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Drives the strategic planning and management of digital delivery functions including BIM/Revit capability, resource planning, and overall management of BIM environment, under the guidance of Project Management on site.

  • Supporting on development initiatives including the planning and implementation of AutoCAD to BIM/Revit migration for a full 3D (and subsequently 4D/5D) design technology capability deployment.

  • Work with the team towards implementing full BIM technology deployment on large scale projects to include 4D (scheduling & manpower) and 5D (cost analysis) using BIM models.

  • As part of a multi-disciplinary project delivery team, supports with contributing actively to structure, process and compliance improvements; improves workflows, policies, procedures, processes and controls to ensure full adherence with QA/QC requirements in accordance with with Company’s ISO9001 Quality Management System.

  • Drives digital delivery operations and performance improvement initiatives including all necessary functional, technological, and operational improvements; implements best practices and standards to optimize BIM project delivery, quality and profitability.

  • Recommends the adoption of new technologies, system upgrades and customizations as necessary.

  • Trains, develops, and coaches teams and other users as necessary.

  • Guides, supports, and oversees execution of the projects on site; resolves complex technical issues
