WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Under the direction
of a Chief Operator, Operations Manager, Assistant Superintendent, or
Superintendent, performs work involving the operation and maintenance of the
sewage treatment plant, pump stations, sewage collection systems, and CSO
facilities. Troubleshoots problems, reports findings to Chief Operator,
provides input for corrective actions, and implements corrective actions as
Ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, bar screens, and other wastewater
treatment equipment is functioning properly.
Collects samples, reads gauges, enters data into logs.
When necessary, checks and monitors barricades, ditches, and other repair
work performed in the collection system.
Performs preventative maintenance activities.
Keeps general area clean as well as keeping equipment and machinery clean and
greased as necessary.
Performs tasks involved in the upkeep of structures and grounds.
Responds to service calls and odor complaints.
Drives Company vehicles.
Uses various hand tools and power tools.
Performs minor maintenance activities
Performs related work as required.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Diploma or equivalent
Familiarity and adherence to all environmental and safety compliance regulations.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Knowledge of maintenance management systems
Must possess a valid driver''s license.
Must obtain a valid RI DEM Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate
with in 1 year
High School diploma or equivalent.
One 3-5 years of experience working in the water and or wastewater treatment
or related field.
Satisfactory experience in answering service calls and odor complaints.
Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in the operation of a
wastewater treatment plant.
Ability to read and interpret data from gauges and graphs.
Ability to understand and execute written and oral instructions.
Ability to maintain and repair equipment.
Must have a reasonable mechanical aptitude.
Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations with
supervisors, other employees, and the general public.
Must obtain a valid Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate
within 1 year.
