Description
Reporting to the Production Operating Supervisor, the Machine Operator
level 1 is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of fluid
processing production line equipment and automation software with
adherence to food quality and safety policies. Controls and adjusts
major machine settings to complete complex tasks.
Schedule:
2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm. (Work hours may vary based on
production activities and overtime may be required.)
Key responsibilities include:
Operates fluid processing equipment to carefully and accurately blend
batches of fruit and vegetable products and fill finished product
containers by following written blending and filling instructions and
using automation software.
Ensures that all product and packaging is handled in accordance with
company food quality and safety policies and applicable regulatory
standards.
Accurately complete batch records/forms documenting blending/filling/WH
process as instructed.
Performs supervised CI/Pasteurization/Sterilization, aseptic tasks and
clean/sanitize tubing, lines and other equipment or surfaces in
accordance with written sanitation procedures.
Makes equipment adjustments as necessary and performs routine
maintenance of the equipment including diagnoses of minor equipment
issues or malfunctions.
Becomes proficient in the operation of multiple production equipment
lines and processes to engage in various production roles across
facility and provide backup to other operators and production personnel
as necessary.
As needed, prepare finished product or raw material for shipment, or
handle newly received product by transferring to frozen or cooler
storage.
Participates in training sessions, plant meetings, teams, and committees
as required.
Ensures proper time keeping and leave approval as required by the
company leave and time and attendance policies.
Communicates regularly with the Customer Service Department on needs,
changes, or changing prioritizations as it relates to the fulfillment of
sample orders.
Monitors outbound sample orders as submitted by Customer service,
ensuring timely preparation and shipping.
Enters FedEx portal shipping information ensuring that requested ship
dates are met.
Creates labels for bottles, FedEx labels, and any other documentations
required.
Fills sample bottles, label and ensure sample stock meets Greenwood
exacting standards for proper presentation to the customers.
Pick, pack and ensure proper documentation is included with each
shipment.
Monitors packaging supplies and advises when replenishment is required.
Monitors sample inventory levels, initiate process for generating
additional sample inventory when notified by Planning. Ensures samples
are pulled at the line during production or transfers are initiated for
product that is needed to move from storage to sample prep area.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:
1-1.5 years experience with manufacturing or production line preferred;
food or beverage production with automation and computer-controlled
equipment a plus.
Previous training and experience driving a forklift preferred.
Ability to physically lift and handle up to 60-pound pails, packages,
and containers, and bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods
of time performing repetitive motions.
Ability to tolerate exposure to temperature changes and varying noise
levels, while safely working around moving equipment.
Capable of multitasking and communicating with other members of
production staff.
Basic math skills and reading comprehension, including ability to read
and comprehend instructions, recipes, policies, and procedures.
Ability to visually identify product, label, container, and equipment
issues.
Flexibility in working hours as needed by the operation, including
overtime as necessary.
