Position summary

As a Java/Java EE/Python/Node Js developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by working with a team of application developers (in multiple global locations), business analysts and business stakeholders.

Duties & accountabilities

• Design & Develop solutions for a business problem.

• Maintain the application developed & provide support.

• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders like Development team, Business Analyst, Product Team & Test Team.

• Mentor other team members when required.

• Use best practices related to development, testing & deployment and employs them on projects where appropriate.

Required experience

• 5-8 total years of Professional experience

• Must have Core Java 8/ Java EE hands on skills including design patterns, multithreading, Data Structures, concurrency scenarios.

• Experience in any of the two frameworks: NodeJs and Python is a plus and desirable

• Must have Hands on experience in AWS services viz. ECS, EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SQS, EventBridge, etc

• Hands on Practical experience with Microservices.

• Hands-on Experience with Spring components viz. Spring boot, Spring JPA

• Hands on experience in writing & optimizing (analysing query plans) SQL queries on Postgres

• Practical experience with Rest APIs, XML(JAXB, JSON) in creating a layered system

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab.

• Experience with project management tools such JIRA, Confluence, etc

Add-ons:

• Hands on experience with Application Servers (Tomcat).

• Comfortable working with both UNIX/Linux and Windows environments

• Hands on experience with build tools like Maven & Version Control systems like GIT

• Experience with CI tools like Jenkins is desirable..

Commercial awareness

Basic understanding of Financial Markets desirable.

  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ownership of the implementation (estimation, breakdown of tasks) for business functional specifications through the full software development lifecycle.

  • Ownership of maintenance and support issues as they come up during the project lifecycle pre and post go-live. Provide technical assistance to other teams – support, QA, business analysis.

  • Displays energy, drive and stamina.

  • Open minded, flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations.

  • Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed teams to achieve project plan deliverables and exceed client expectations.

  • Focused on delivery and timelines
