Do you have a desire to help shape the emerging data platform ecosystem with Cloud and Enterprise into a competitive differentiator? What about working directly with engineering counterparts and assorted business teams to influence how azure products, services, and business plans within Microsoft Commerce are operationalized and monetized?
The goal of CPX core commerce services team is to foster a data-driven culture, to encourage and enable the azure customers and partners to make more informed decisions through data. As part of that work, the team develops and operationalizes the high scale distributed data platform that enables Microsoft customers to realize and manage cloud costs and partner teams to operationalize their goals.
As the volume of data and the demand for solutions grows, we need a strong and experienced technician who can architect, deliver and manage data solutions.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional requirements
Design & develop APIs and user experiences on Big Data.
Own technical design of components with overall systems view.
Define cost estimates and execution plan for features.
Design, code, test and deploy features using CI/CD model.
Define metrics and alerts to monitor health of services.
Architect, Design, develop and maintain reliable and scalable big data pipelines and Storage solutions at Azure scale supporting sub second query response.
Own Technical design and delivery of projects with holistic system view.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial software development.
Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field.
Great coding and design skills (C#, C++ or Java)
Strong communication skills in English.
*Preferred Qualifications: *
Experience with Open Source Big Data Stack such as Hadoop, HIVE, SPARK etc.
Experience leading and delivering projects that span multiple engineering organizations
Experience building and operating high scale and fault-tolerant data services.
Understanding of data structures, algorithms and distributed systems
Experience using agile methodologies or test-driven development (TDD).
Experience working in a fast-paced/competitive environment, and have a deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes.
Gets excited with hard technical problems and solve them with deep passion and empathy for customers.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
