Continental Electrical Technician - Backup Position in Norfolk, Nebraska

ONLY CURRENT CONTINENTAL FULL TIME EMPLOYEES WORKING THE NORFOLK NEBRASKA PLANT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

  • This position will be assigned as a backup Electrical Technician with the possibility of becoming full time.

  • Coordinate arc flash program and training and glove testing

  • Responsible for operations of all electrical lighting and distributions systems

  • Responsible for cable tie, transformer and breaker testing

  • Provide day to day support and oversight of normal maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and repairs

  • Review maintenance work orders to observe trends and abnormal conditions to ensure measures are taken to avoid equipment failures

  • Responsible for overseeing all electrical motor testing repairs

  • Update and create electrical prints

  • Acts as a liaison on projects, including Production, Engineering staff and outside contractors with the installation of new equipment and processes

  • Support the training needs of the Maintenance Department

  • Assist the Safety Department in the assessment of electrical standards and OSHA regulations

  • Support the team environment through active participation in teams when needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must currently be employed as a Continental full time employee at the Continental plant located in Norfolk Nebraska

  • Degree in Electrical Technology

  • Minimum of an Electrical apprenticeship working towards Journeyman's license

  • Minimum 5 years electrical experience

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Not be in Positive Counseling.

  • Satisfactory attendance in the past 12 months (less than 24 hours of unapproved time).

  • Involvement in a plant function in the past 5 years. (Point Role, TTL, Task Forces, Volunteer Work, etc.)

  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization

  • Strong leadership, people and organizational skills

  • Sap experience

  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel & Word
