A day in the role…
Answer telephones.
Triage & direct phone calls to appropriate individual or area.
Enter patient information into IDX system.
Schedule appointments.
Process patients at check in & check out.
Prepare charts for office hours
Assure appropriate referrals are in place for each Date of Service.
Verify insurance information for assigned patients.
Follow-up with referring physician &/or patient if referral is required
Forward messages to physicians and staff in Allscripts
Schedule surgeries for assigned doctor in a timely manner including obtaining all required authorizations
Perform other duties as assigned, according to the individual departmental needs.
Patient Volume: between 80-120 patients per day

Strong Computer Skills | Great Customer/Patient Service | Medical Terminology | Patient Registration | Medical Insurance Knowledge | Insurance Payer Knowledge | EMR Systems
Core Experience:
1+ years of Medial Receptionist Experience
EMR - electronic medical records
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong customer service experience - high volume calls
