Sr. Automation Controls Engineers with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Improve and troubleshoot production lines by reducing cycle time, downtime, and improve quality. Troubleshoot, improve, and add features to PLCs using Ladder Logic and/or Structured Text. Maintain, modify, and control equipment programs, configure files, and document changes as implemented. Develop control standards and specifications by feeding back lessons-learned and gaps from each project to ensure that future projects run smoother. Add or remove network devices to update network and manage switch configurations. Implement and modify Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) logic for production and performance management in the PLCs and HMIs. Assist in installation and commissioning of new production lines. Train Production and Maintenance teams to properly use equipment and troubleshoot.\ \ RQMTS: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field and one year of experience in any occupation as a PLC Programmer, controls engineer, or related. Experience must include writing PLC projects for high-volume manufacturing equipment using Rockwell Control Logix PLCs; creating or modifying HMI projects for high-volume manufacturing equipment using FactoryTalk View, Ignition or similar; programming or troubleshooting industrial 6-axis robots such as Fanuc, ABB or Kawasaki; working with Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA) and Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric Code, UL508A); developing or modifying electrical schematics using EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical; and troubleshooting common fieldbus networks such as Ethernet/IP. Salary Range: \$78,000-\$110,000/yr.
