Description

Robert Half is looking to staff an Assistant Payroll Manager with our well-respected client! The Assistant Payroll Manager will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. This may be the role for you if you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven.

Our client, a very well established (100+ years) group of companies in the management, services and construction industries seeks an assistant Payroll Manager to join their team due to growth!

The responsibilities of the successful assistant payroll manager will include:

Process weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees

Preparation of management reports

Prepare weekly and monthly union reports and payments

Perform monthly payroll close duties including preparation of period-end accruals and reconciliation of benefit-related expenses and payroll tax accounts to general ledger.

Review time submitted by field employees through a service module

Maintain holiday calendar in payroll system

Set up new employees and maintain current employee records in payroll software for both union and non-union employees

Other responsibilities of the assistant payroll manager (can be learned on the job) include:

Preparation of year-end reporting as it relates to payroll

Reconciliation of monthly bank statements

Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings including 941/940 reporting

Prepare and submit annual compliance related items including: W-2s, ACA

Requirements

The successful assistant payroll manager will possess the following qualifications:

7+ years of experience in payroll including some supervisory experience, with specific experience in payroll tax processing and filings

Bachelors Degree required

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Experience in union payroll processing, specifically related to union dues and reporting

Experience in general Accounting
