Clean Harbors Accounting Manager in Norwell, Massachusetts

Clean Harbors, located in Norwell MA, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their Corporate Accounting team.   • Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, the candidate will engage and communicate with key senior executives (i.e. Controller, CFO) on various accounting and finance matters

  • Oversee month-end close process to ensure results are reported accurately and timely

  • Maintain and report on judgmental accounting estimates monthly

  • Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts that are more complex in nature

  • Post and review monthly journal entries

  • Act as a primary point of contact with external and internal auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews

  • Provide coaching and development to other team members

  • Participate in the preparation of footnotes for inclusion in SEC filings

  • Participate in the annual budget/monthly forecast process

  • Opportunities to participate in strategic projects supporting other parts of the business and subject to greater visibility across the organization

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA or CPA in process preferred

  • 5+ years in public accounting or public / private mix

  • Driven self-starter possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Hard working, forward-thinking individual looking to further their career at a company with multiple growth opportunities

  • Effective communication and teambuilding skills combined with an ability to manage multiple on-going tasks

  • Experience in Oracle ERP a plus
