(Tides) is the first abortion fund in Massachusetts founded and led by
people who have had abortions, Black, Indigenous, & Queer folx. We are
small and scrappy in all the good ways and in the ways that push us to
grow. Organization-wide we are unapologetic in our belief that no one
should have to struggle when accessing an abortion, making it our
mission to approach abortion funding from a whole person perspective. We
approach our staff and the communities we serve the same way, because we
are our communities - we are whole people. We believe that
anti-blackness is real, that people (not just women) get abortions, and
that orgs can keep their land acknowledgements if they are not actively
working with Native communities. We are learning so much in our first
year as a nonprofit simply because this world was not made for us to be
leaders - we approach our work with humility, creativity, flexibility,
and curiosity. We invite folx interested in learning how a startup
nonprofit works to join us in building something outside the box, even
if it means getting a little messy along the way. Job Requirements Five
