News Corp Australia Digital Producer and Feature Writer - taste in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Digital Producer and Feature Writer to join the team behind Australia’s leading food publishing brands: taste.com.au and Australia’s Best Recipes. As a content producer with a background in digital media and/or writing and a passion for all things food, you will be able to identify emerging food trends and create compelling daily food content across sites and social channels.

About the role:

  • Research and write engaging food content and social posts to drive audience and traffic across taste.com.au

  • Write daily articles (news, ecommerce etc) to help drive new audiences across social and site

  • Build newsletter eDMs to keep our subscribers engaged

  • Grow social media audiences through creation of engaging, trend-led video and static content across key mass food channels: Insta, FB, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube.

  • Work with Digital Editor and producers to optimise existing content in accordance with SEO best practices to hit referral and traffic KPIs across taste.com.au

  • Curate site sections, galleries and recipe collections to help expand our content offering and keep the site looking fresh

  • Identify new industry trends and topics to build new content around

  • Monitor and respond to comments, helping to build thriving on and off-platform communities

Who are you?

  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to self-edit work (and proof-read others’)

  • Proven ability to write articles and headlines that engage audiences

  • Impeccable organisational skills

  • A passion for food and home cooking

  • Experience in social media/community management

  • Desirable: Experience in analytics tools (e.g. AdobeAnalytics/Google Analytics and social media tools)

  • Desirable: Video editing skills using premiere pro or similar, plus experience editing videos in-app (TikTok, Reels etc.)
