Pay Range: $16.20 - $24.28 per hour

The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
Provide courteous and efficient service to all customers including patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Department and Rush policies and procedures.
Other information:
• High School graduate or GED equivalent
• Working knowledge of registers and charge machines
• Good communication and math skills
• Effective team player; willing to help wherever needed
• Ability to work with a diverse customer population
• Ability to work courteously with many interruptions
• Physical ability to perform medium lifting (approx. 50lbs)
• Works in a timely and professional manner
• Holds a Food handlers’ card within 30 days of hire
Preferred
• 1-2 years retail experience preferred
Responsibilities:
• Greet all customers with friendly and professional manner. Handle all customer service needs above other duties.
• Maintain a strong, visible and positive presence on the sales and clinical floors
• Maintain sales floor coverage and follow posted schedules with regard to area assignments
• Assist customer in product selection
• Accurately and efficiently handle all transactions and phone orders
• Attractively and neatly bag/tissue purchases
• Maintain high level of merchandise product knowledge
• Assist in maintaining shop appearance to high degree of cleanliness
• Support and maintain store sales and service goals and standards as communicated by management
• Open and close shops as needed according to established procedures
• Attend and complete appropriate in-service training
• Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and Medical Center to both internal and external customers in all forms of communication
• Maintain high awareness regarding any shortage or security issues
• Openly communicate with management any issues or ideas that would contribute to the improvement of the gift shop functions
• Ability to handle petty cash and cash systems
• Operate multiple point of sales systems
