Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our clients team as a Referral Coordinator.The Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating patient care by managing the referral process efficiently and effectively. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to their patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and review referral requests from healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
Coordinate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
Schedule appointments for patients with specialist providers as needed.
Communicate with patients regarding referral status, appointment details, and any necessary follow-up instructions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all referral activities and documentation.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless coordination of care for patients.
Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes as required.
Provide support and assistance to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns related to referrals and appointments.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a referral coordination role.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and referral processes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a diverse team.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
