The Senior Scientist for Beckman Coulter is responsible for managing and supporting multi-site consumable cost reduction and process improvement projects that deliver value to the company and meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
This position is an integral part of Consumable Value Engineering and will be located on-site just outside Tulla, in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare. Value Engineering’s Mission Statement is to collaborate with reagent manufacturing to improve processes and reduce costs with innovative solutions.
You will work with the Senior Manager who is responsible for meeting quality, safety, and cost savings goals through design and manufacturing process improvements.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage projects to improve the Operating Margin Expansion of the Consumables business across Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunoassay, Blood Virus and Hematology Value Streams.
Be responsible for and support the technical development of projects, ensuring project meets design requirements on budget and within schedule, while ensuring timely communication to project stakeholders.
Design, execute, and analyze moderate to complex experimental works, present conclusions, develop and execute in-laboratory test protocols, Identify and resolve technical and not-technical issues in compliance with relevant procedures. Align with regulatory guidelines and Beckman Coulter Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Represent the VE team on cross-functional teams to achieve project and business commitments as required.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years’ experience or master’s degree in field with 3+ years’ experience or Doctorate degree
Demonstrated project execution and delivery experience in a regulated environment.
Candidates must have considerable knowledge of good laboratory practices, scientific methods, and technical ability.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting and able to interact effectively at all levels and across different cultures.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience with Post Launch Changes and validation requirements
Experience with Latex bead assays
Optimizing assays on an automated system
