Job Summary

**

TheWarehouse Specialistperforms a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents.

  • Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

  • Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.

  • Storing stacking, or pelletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

  • Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.

  • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.

  • Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of overall warehouse procedures.

  • Must be able to obtain forklift/SRT license if required.

  • Ability to perform task independently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to perform work in a safe manner to prevent loss or damage of equipment.

  • Customer-oriented with ability to courteously and effectively work through difficult situations.

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • One-year work experience related to warehouse operations.

  • Specialized training courses in warehouse operations are desirable.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and software applications.

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.

  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

  • Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc.

  • Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.

  • May work in warehouse or outside where it is drafty, noisy and dirty.

  • May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.

  • May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.

  • Will be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants.

  • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.

  • Must be able to meet the medical deployment requirements IAW CENTCOM MOD 15.

  • CONUS:

o Generally, works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.

OCONUS:

o Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions.
