Summary: The ideal candidate will be safety-minded, dependable, and motivated and have experience operating an Articulated Haul Truck such as JD460, VolvoA45G, Cat 745, or Komatsu HM400, willing to train for those with Heavy Equipment / Dump Truck experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

  • Conducts safety inspections at the beginning of the shift.

  • On checklist record meter reading at beginning of a shift, mechanical condition, noting any physical or mechanical problems, date and time of operator use.

  • Maintain paperwork on the amount of tonnage hauled each day.

  • Notify Mobile maintenance of any physical or mechanical problems

  • At the end of the shift, record, record ending meter reading, sign the checklist, and turn it in to the shift supervisor.

  • Visually look on all sides of the equipment to verify clearance from obstacles or other vehicles prior to moving any equipment.

  • With the use of an Articulated Haul Truck, haul raw materials such as Sulfate of Potash and Salt to stockpiles for processing.

  • Complete a daily load sheet by writing down how much each load was to deliver to the stockpiles and at what times. This load sheet will be turned in to the supervisor at the end of each shift.

  • Individuals will be reassigned to a pond crew during harvest shutdowns. Assignments and accountability will be under the direction of the pond supervisor.

  • Must be willing to perform other duties outside of driving such as; shoveling, checking grade, occasionally running other equipment such as a Cat980, Pan Scraper, Loader, Dozer, Blade, etc.

Deliverables:

  • Trucks will be loaded within specified times and delivered within a specific time frame.

  • Grades and quality of feed materials will be separated in the stockpile area

  • Documentation of trucks loaded and loading times will be accurately recorded on an hourly basis to be compiled for a full 12-hour shift report.

  • Equipment safety checks will be done prior to operations with any know defects to be reported to the shift supervisor prior to operating.

Education and Experience : Must have a high school diploma and previous experience or education demonstrating the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation and perform tasks related to maintaining product quality. Experience in a process plant in the mining/minerals industry is preferred.
