Siemens Energy Customer Technical Support Engineer (Reciprocating Compressors) in Olean, New York

A Snapshot of Your Day:

This role will be part of a team of technical support engineers within the Global Services team in Compression business. The team is focused on supporting reciprocating compressors product line and consistently interfaces with various internal and external stakeholders.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Be part of the Global CPCustomer Technical Support (CTS) team focused on reciprocating compressors(RCE).

  • Provide effectiveday-to-day operational support to ensure responses to all inquiries areprovided within desired timeframe while meeting Siemens Energy standardsof safety, compliance, and quality.

  • Answer CTS ticketsdepending on team loading and technical focus of the ticket.

  • Be ready to providesupport and guidance on variety of technical topics ranging frommaintenance, repairs, operational troubleshooting of compressors.

  • Support Marketing andSales in front end customer support.

  • Participate in and/or conductprocess and design FMEA and RCA as a part of cross-functional team, asrequired.

  • Closely coordinate with remotediagnostics team to leverage available unit data in troubleshooting.

  • Constant engagement with theteam to identify areas of improvement, cost out and standardization.

What You Bring:

  • Must have a minimum of a 2 year Associate's degree; a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or ManufacturingEngineering or related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rotating machinery, e.g.centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps, axial compressors, hot gasexpanders, reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, orauxiliary systems is required.

  • Proven expertise in either of the fields related to rotatingmachinery: design engineering, repairs, installation and commissioning ortroubleshooting.

  • Experienced user of Salesforce,SAP, TeamCenter and other IT platforms used in engineering andtechnology environment.

  • Experienced in managing complex technical problems incritical operational scenarios with limited available information.

  • Excellent grasp of digital tools that aid in technicaltroubleshooting including data analytics (RDS).

  • Possess and demonstrate ahigh degree of tact and professionalism; and be capable of interactingwith management, peers, shop personnel, and clients.

  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)domestically and internationally with a valid and current passport.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized foremployment in the United States without need for current or futureemployer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees withcurrent visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Siemens Energy /Dresser-Rand’s products and services.

  • Expertise in the field of design and operation of reciprocatingcompressors.

  • Experience with different industry segments for compressors:upstream, midstream and downstream.

· Familiarity and experience with industry standards such as ASME and API.

Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellnessbenefits including paid time off and holiday pay.  Details regarding ourbenefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html. The base salary range forthis position if based in New York is $85, 000 -$120,000 and the annual incentive target is 10% incentiveof base salary. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such asexperience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employeestypically do not start at the top of the range, though compensationdepends on each individual’s qualifications.
