Field Service Mechanic
$35 - $45/hr | Omaha, NE
Job Description
Responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair work, on a firetrucks and emergency vehicles.
Responsibilities
Conduct on-site equipment inspections and maintenance at customer locations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and perform necessary repairs.
Collaborate with Service Manager to schedule and prioritize field service calls.
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
Build knowledge of dealer-supported product lines, service standards, and procedures, and keep abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment while working in the field.
Maintain remote parts inventory.
Willingness for overnight travel, including some multi-day events.
Take an active role in acquiring new business opportunities in the area of responsibility.
Act as an ambassador of the company with customers.
Essential Qualifications
3 years of working in a full-time technician/mechanic role on heavy duty chassis
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical experience
Welding/cutting torch experience
Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal, organizational and attention to detail
Working usage of MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement.

Direct industry experience
Class B CDL

Will be in the field as long as there are calls. If no calls, will be working in the shop.

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
