What Health Physics contributes to Cardinal Health

Quality develops and implements quality policies, procedures, and processes to ensure products and services comply with regulatory standards and specifications.

Quality Compliance is responsible for the development and deployment of policies, procedures and programs designed to minimize risk, enable compliant business operations, products and services and drive uncompromised supply chain integrity.

Anticipated salary range: $78,500.00 - $112,100.00

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Heath Physics, Physical Science, or related field, preferred

  • 3+ years’ experience in related field or Nuclear Medicine Technology, preferred

Accountabilities

  • Travel required for routine customer visits in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, and Colorado including some overnight stays.

  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

  • Evaluation and/or calibration of radiation measuring equipment’s used with radioactive materials.

  • Evaluation of radiological equipment to assess compliance with state and/or national standards.

  • Evaluation of radiological imaging procedures to advise on patient dose reduction.

  • Assist facilities with the development and/or updating of policies and procedures pertaining to the use of radioactive materials and radiological imaging procedures.

  • Consultation to healthcare facilities regarding compliance with radioactive materials licenses and applicable state and/or federal regulations.

  • Prepare radioactive materials license applications, renewals, and amendment requests.

  • Assist facilities with interactions with regulatory agencies regarding radioactive materials and radiation producing machines.

  • Complete radiation safety audits and ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) reviews as required.

  • Answering Radiation Safety and Health Physics questions.

  • Performing nuclear medicine, HDR and industrial radiation safety review

  • Performing dosimetry review, worker and patient dose estimates, fetal dose estimates

  • Conducting dose investigations and assist facilities with regulations

  • Performing leak-testing and other radiological assay as requested

  • Conduct group and individual training sessions; documents training activities as required. Maintains reference library for radiation protection.

  • Provide customer survey meter calibration and other radiation safety services as required by the customer RAM License.

  • Performs other job-related duties as requested and works effectively with other team members to ensure the goals and objectives of the department are met.

  • Proficiency in basic Health Physics concept (survey instrument use, survey technique, leak testing, dosimetry review, dose estimates)

  • Draws on best practices and comprehensive technical knowledge to advise customers.

  • Tracks internal trends and suggests process improvements based on observations

  • Submits accurate billing for services and manages financials for region

  • Excellent professional writing skills

  • Well versed in Microsoft Office applications
