Planning & Resource Optimization Manager

This position can be performed in Omaha, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or remotely depending upon which location the applicant chosen for the role is currently residing.

LinkedIn’s Global Operations (GOps) team is looking for a  *Planning & Resource Optimization Manager * who will analyze and enhance the member and customer experience by providing actionable staffing insights.  Key responsibility in this role is to support business strategy in advising optimization of resources to drive the ideal member service experience.  In this role you will work collectively with partners to drive scale into Global Operations. Additional responsibilities include analyzing data and trends to create detailed models and forecasts and recommending solutions to improve overall operational efficiency and ultimately creating an ideal member service experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively execute analyses, apply planning expertise, and leverage business knowledge to provide recommendations and drive business strategy and decision making.

  • Lead operational and annual planning through the development of a holistic Global Operations model.

  • Size new initiatives and strategies to determine impact to line of business.  Additionally, identify the need for deep dives to scale or drive planning needs and processes.

  • Independently break down business questions into solvable analyses in a hypothesis and data driven way with minimal guidance.

  • Present and articulate analyses & actionable insights to all levels of leadership and stakeholder audiences.

  • Independently create forecasts of member demand, handling time, shrinkage and other workforce related metrics based on trends and understood business drivers.

  • Create and maintain capacity planning models for short-term and long-term forecasts.

  • Proactively troubleshoot shifts in demand, AHT and shrinkage and identify the root cause with minimal guidance.

  • Influence operational decisions during ongoing meetings with business partners.

  • Collaborate closely with other operational organizations throughout LI, such as Biz Ops, Sales Ops and finance to drive planning needs.

  • Collaborate with BI to ensure accurate and well-timed reports and dashboards to all levels of leadership providing actionable insights.

  • Manage escalation process to ensure leadership and relevant stakeholders are well informed of variances to the operating plan.

  • Developing talent through regular coaching and skills development of junior analysts. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in an analytical role

  • 3+ years of experience supporting strategic initiative planning

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating demand forecasts

  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams

  • Experience in business consulting with the ability to support complex business initiatives through strategic planning and analysis

  • Experience writing effective executive summaries, as well as steering large cross functional meetings and presentations

  • Experience supporting an organization's budget planning process and understanding operational planning and forecasting

  • Superior time management and communication skills with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to diverse types of audiences

  • Experience in econometrics

  • Experience in project management and working cross-functionally with teams

  • Experience in developing analysts through regular coaching and skill training

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, complex functions)

  • Experience with writing SQL  

  • Knowledge of social media and consumer Internet practices

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $93,000 to $145,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
