The Orem Public Library is currently hiring for a part-time Light/Sound Technician. This is a non-benefited position responsible for set up and take down of equipment for concerts and events at Library Hall. This position will design lighting and sound plots, set, focus, and operate theatrical lighting and sound equipment for live performances. This position will also perform some hosting and stage management duties, and will be expected to address patron and client concerns as needed and as appropriate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with sound and lighting in a performance environment. This position requires knowledge of lighting and sound production and live events, including but not limited to: microphone types and setup, analog and digital mixing equipment, setting EQ and independent mixes for stage monitors and house, light console operation, lighting design, power distribution management, and rigging. Ability to solve technical problems in stressful situations. Knowledge of ETC equipment and EOS system preferred. Must be available evenings and weekends. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment weighing up to 50 pounds is required. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
