The Work You Will Do:

The Employment Security Representative II serves as a Career Consultant – Learning Liasian providing professional work in the Operations department of CareerSource Central Florida by acting as an intermediary in developing training resources for career pathways.

      Pay: $42,500 - $46,043 Annual

      Your Specific Responsibilities:

    The Career Consultant (Employment Security Representative II – Learning Liaison) The individual will utilize local market information, skill gap surveys and other sources to research and recommend curriculum for workshops and/or professional development classes/courses. The Learning Liaison facilitates workshops and assists customers in utilizing web-based Learning Management Systems and courses in an effort to improve their marketability and job skills. Position exercises judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques and a keen ability to work closely with Managers and Consultants to meet the needs of the CSCFL Career Seekers and Business Partners.

  • Presents evidence-based curricula to youth and adults, educating them on job preparation skills in a variety of settings

  • Actively participate in the recruitment of career seekers to attend workshops

  • As a vital part of holistic service delivery to customers, works with Operations and Business Services departments to assist in implementing career path training plans

  • Collaborates with Career Services Consultants to develop training plans based on skill gaps assessment and/or employment barriers

  • Develops and facilitates orientations, workshops for career centers based on regional needs; oversees the quality and processes of the customized training at each Career Center

  • Plans, organizes, and delivers workshops and retreats as needed

  • Administers and/or facilitates lessons in accordance with the chosen program curriculum

  • Maintains curriculum integrity and fidelity to program model

  • Assists in developing, implementing and analyzing a work plan for the program and follows the plan under the direction of the Assistant Director of Operations or their designee.

  • Provides continuing contact support to designated program participants through email, phone calls and personal interaction

  • Documents, records, and files all classroom attendance electronically as required and within a period of 48 hours of participant interaction

  • Maintains healthy and appropriate relationships with program participants, focusing on support, interaction and engagement

  • Participates in program evaluation and continual quality improvement activities, including use of participant surveys

  • Maintains working relationships with partner agencies, community groups, and referral sources

  • Assists supervisor in producing overall monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports

  • Coordinates the provision of labor exchange services to eligible persons including, intake and assessment, counseling, testing, job search assistance, referral and placement.

  • Professionally handle all customer services related issues.

  • Promotes, follow-up and monitors the placements of qualified job seekers.

  • Organizes and participates in promotional activities to promote services that are available to eligible persons; such as job fairs and career days.

  • Determines the eligibility of applicants for specialized employment and training programs such as, but not limited to, Employed Worker Training, (EWT), On the Job Training (OJT), and WIOA.

  • Works with Employer Services Unit to assist employers with matching qualified job seekers and placement services.

  • Identifies and recommends to immediate supervisor actions and services needed to maintain compliance with established regulations, directives and procedures.

  • Prepare a monthly summary from weekly activity reports and submit to management by the 5th of each month.

  • Provides specialized professional employment security services to individuals needing more complex assistance.

  • Conducts file search on all assigned job orders received to assist employers with finding qualified job seekers.

  • Conducts self-evaluation and participates in shared evaluations for the purpose of professional development.

  • Assists CSS & ESR I in more difficult cases where further background and advanced study can be of assistance

  • Provide direct assistance to job seeker such as resume assistance, job search, arranging for skills assessments, labor market information, etc., and documenting all activities in the appropriate state database system.

  • Contacts employers to obtain job order referral results. Documents employer job order results on notes screen in the management information systems. Notifies Call Center of job order results. Conducts file searches on all assigned job orders.

  • May contact employers to promote and develop jobs for qualified job seekers.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

    Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

    Other job-related requirements for this position:

  • must possess or obtain certification as a Workforce Professional within one year of employment in the position. Occasional local travel throughout the county and/or infrequent travel outside of the county may be required; must furnish own transportation.
