AVT Simulation Aviation Subject Matter Expert-Security Clearance Required in Orlando, Florida

Job Summary Military Rotary Wing Aviation Subject Matter Expert (SME) understands, articulates and implements best practices related to his area of expertise. This individual’s knowledge and skills are recognized in the professional community as an expert in the field (e.g. operational military experience, military rotary wing aviation experience, training/trainer experience). Depending on the work environment, the subject matter expert may lead or be an active participant of a workgroup with the need for specialized knowledge. The subject matter expert provides guidance on how his area of capability can meet the organizational need while participating in all phases of program execution.

Salary: Approximately $105,000 annually  Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Leads and/or participates in Training Systems Requirements Analysis (TSRA) related meetings with Prime and Subcontractors as directed.

  • Conducts advanced research in support of Training Needs Analysis and training program development.

  • Supports the development of Training Support Packages and associated training materials.

  • Communicates with varied group(s) of program stakeholders including Government, industry, and academia.

  • Tracks and provides status of research, analysis and assigned deliverables as it relates to recognized and approved schedules.

  • Continuously identifies, communicates, and addresses risks to program execution (examples: Schedule, Quality).

  •  Maintains relevant and recent knowledge in area of SME expertise.

  •  Provides solicited and unsolicited expert judgment and analysis.

  •  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to develop/review Fidelity Analyses (FA) and Test Scripts.

  •  Leads or participates in the review process for documentation.

  •  Supports internal/external test events during development and validation of product(s). 

  •  Possesses and applies a knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the completion of assignments.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple competing  tasks and demands simultaneously.

  •  Able to travel in support of company business.

  • Secret Clearance

    Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor’s or higher degree. Substitutions: Four (4) years of professional experience can be substituted for two (2) years of the educational requirements.

  • Must possess recent career experience as a practitioner in the subject field.

  • Work On-site (non-telework position)

    Preferred Experience

  • US Army Helicopter Pilot

  • Former US Army UH-60 Assault Helicopter or General Support Battalion Commander / Operations Officer / Executive Officer

  • Knowledge of US Army Training Development Process

  • Experience at the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence (Ft Novosel) as an instructor or unit commander.

  • Experience at the US Army Aviation 128th Aviation Brigade (Ft Eustis) as an instructor or unit commander.

  • Experience in US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC)

  • Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and Training Development

  • Knowledge of US Army AR 350 Series regulations and pamphlets

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communication.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documentation.

  • Ability to analyze problems using scientific and logical thinking.

  • Possess strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Ability to interface with DoD professionals across all ranks.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
