Schedule: Full-Time/Day

Shift : Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Hybrid)

The role you’ll contribute:

The Research Educator and Training Developer is a research education professional who supports the Program Manager, Research Education and Training in development and implementation of education for the AdventHealth Research Institute Corporate-wide. The Research Educator and Training Developer is actively involved in future planning and strategic development for research needs, to include policy development, program development, and quality improvement. This position collaborates with leadership to identify educational gaps and develop educational plans. Exhibits critical-thinking skills, creativity, and manages resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations and compliance with hospital guidelines. The Research Educator and Training Developer is responsible for facilitating the development of research education through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation of practice for all levels of personnel served. Participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to communicate policy revision and organizational goals and improve standards and performance expectations. Maintains various records of documentation of in-services, etc. Provides evaluation of learning, planning for follow-up in deficient areas, and develops and implements an organized education program. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

EDUCATION CREATION:

  • Utilizes principles of education and adult learning to provide opportunities and experiences for professional growth consistent with the Novice to Expert continuum.

  • Utilizes the process of systematic inquiry to develop educational activities.

  • Integrates published research and current literature to develop and implement learning activities.

  • Researches, develops, and implements educational materials and training.

  • Identifies resources in the community and coordinates education opportunities for research staff including webinars and continuing education.

EDUCATION FACILITATION AND EVALUATION:

  • Supports the planning, organizing, and leading through application of critical thinking skills.

  • Utilizes data driven decision making, incorporating evidence into the decision process.

  • Acts as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Clinical Research training topics.

  • Communicates appropriately and effectively with all involved parties. Plans, organizes, and directs educational programs for anyone involved in research.

  • Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with other departments and vendors.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Responsible for assigned research education/projects including, but not limited to, education for regulatory compliance and policy and procedure compliance.

  • Organizes, facilitates and oversees education, including research competencies.

  • Assists with short and long-term plans for research training and education needs including planning for resources, comprehensive training programs, new research employee orientation, advanced and professional development opportunities, education activities to enhance adult learning and engagement.

INFORMAL LEADER:

  • Though no direct reports, oversees daily work of assigned administrative employees as well as facilitators and subject matter experts.

  • Delegates work as appropriate.

TEAM PLAYER:

  • Is supportive of Process Improvement Initiatives by sponsoring and/or participating in the activities.

  • Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.

  • Assists, as needed, with all projects given by Program Manager, Research Education and Training.

ORIENTATION:

  • Individualizes, plans, implements, and evaluates orientation programs in response to healthcare trends, staff learning needs and organizational goals.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings

  • Public Speaking

  • 3 years of experience in clinical research

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

· Master’s degree in related field

· Experience in education in a healthcare or research setting

· 5 years of previous teaching experience in formal/informal setting

· Experience as a clinical research coordinator and/or clinical experience in a healthcare setting.

· Previous experience in leading the implementation of a large, department or system-wide project, such as new processes to implement, software application, policies and procedures, etc.
