Actalent Analytical Lab Technician in Ormond Beach, Florida

Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

This position reports directly to the QC Supervisor and is primarily responsible for performing analytical testing, laboratory investigations, and analytical method transfers for an OTC drug manufacturing facility. Additionally, the role involves completing any other tasks assigned by the QC Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform raw material, in-process, and release testing using a variety of analytical techniques (UV-Vis, IR, HPLC, GC, AA, titrations, viscosity analysis, etc.).

  • Follow cGMP, USP, and 21CFR 210/211 requirements for laboratory testing and OOS investigations.

  • Apply technical knowledge of chromatography and bench chemistry.

  • Utilize good computer skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel. LIMS experience is a plus.

  • Apply basic statistics and compare data trends.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and team-building skills.

  • Exhibit excellent organizational, problem-solving, prioritizing, and follow-up skills.

  • Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.

  • Technical knowledge of HPLC, GC, and other analytical techniques.

  • Working knowledge of cGMPs as applicable to the laboratory environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.

  • Knowledge of basic statistics.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to verify numbers, words, and alphanumeric combinations across multiple mediums.

  • Willingness to work occasional off-shift and weekend hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or food and beverage industries is preferred.

  • Experience with wet chemistry, gas chromatography, titration, ICP, and GCMS is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in applying data trends and statistical analysis.

Work Environment

This position is based in an OTC environment, specifically within a laboratory setting where sunscreen and sun care products are manufactured. The lab is equipped with a variety of instruments and requires interaction with microbiologists, QC chemists, and other lab technicians. The environment adheres to GMP and FDA audit standards. Flexibility to work overtime and possible weekends is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
