Description

We are searching for a meticulous and diligent Tax Accountant to join our team in Olathe, Kansas. As part of our team, you will be primarily responsible for the administration of personal property tax, fixed assets, and various accounting software systems. This role is an integral part of our corporate tax team, ensuring the accurate execution of tax accounting services, compliance with internal control procedures and tax accounting policies, and the provision of support to the North American Finance Manager. Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact for selected processes including personal property tax, fixed assets, and month-end system balancing/closing

• Administer and maintain data within various accounting software systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Participate in process improvement projects to ensure appropriate tax assessment and contribute to the overall efficiency of the tax operations

• Promptly handle ad-hoc/audit requests, demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills

• Uphold internal control procedures and all accounting policies in accordance with corporate standards and an internal control framework

• Foster collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues, promoting a positive and supportive work environment

• Provide tax accounting services, ensuring that data is accurate across company systems

• Provide cross training and back-up support for roles in the area of US RTR

• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager related to the areas of accountability.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate tax or related field

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Personal Property Tax

• Familiarity with Fixed Assets

• Knowledge of Form 1099

• Expertise in Tax Accounting

• Understanding of Internal Control

• Demonstrated skills in Process Improvement

• Experience in Ad Hoc Reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (preferred)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team.
