This position is responsible for the mechanical design of the ACS (Air-Conditioning Service) products. This will include design of new products, both at the system and component level, as well as maintaining the existing product portfolio. The candidate will work closely with a cross functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. To be successful, the candidate must be innovative, creative, detail oriented, comfortable working from a vision, and comfortable working in a fast-pace environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Conceptualize and document mechanical designs for AC service products.
Create and maintain mechanical CAD models and drawings for products and components.
Create system level design documentation.
Coordinate testing and documentation required to achieve and maintain product certifications (UL, CE, etc.)
Create test plans and reports to validate design concepts.
Troubleshoot problems to assist with manufacturing or reduce warranty costs.
Perform design analysis and FMEA‘s on system designs to assure form, fit, function, and safety.
Maintain project documentation, i.e. design reviews, FMEAs, design specifications, wiring diagrams, test plans, etc.
Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with the Customer, Cross Functional Teams and the entire organization.
Takes full responsibility for providing the customer (internal and external) with service and products (documentation, prototypes, etc.) that exceed customer’s expectations.
Bachelors Degree Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
3+ years related experience preferred.
Proven design skills, utilizing knowledge of similar product.
Proficiency in PC skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc), CAD experience (Solidworks) preferred, Labview preferred.
Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Experience working with global/international teams also highly desirable.
Previous experience with product certifications (UL) preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills with solid documentation skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects keeping accurate documentation and records
Ability to work well with challenging individuals and customers
Creative Problem Solving – proven problem solving ability via design or process
Demonstrated ability to produce results and meet commitments
Ability/Desire to work in a fast-paced environment; Works with a sense of urgency
Not afraid to get their hands dirty - “hands on”
