Summary: A professional care provider who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, providing care through the continued utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with other health team members. #The LPN will be responsible for meeting the standards required by JCAHO, GMC and other regulating agencies for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment on the unit. #The LPN will process information on the Center#s Health Information System as required for performing job responsibilities. Duties:# Observe the organization#s attendance policy. Complies with departmental policies for reporting to work on time and for complying with designated meal/break period time frames. Attends and participates in department meetings. #Identify self in a pleasant and positive manner. Assists patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy. #Demonstrates effective communication, recognizing diversity among age groups, cultures, and educational levels. # # Works consistently in a positive and cooperative manner with other employees in and outside the departmental unit. Supports final decisions even when such decisions may not entirely reflect one#s own opinion. Values and incorporates the contributions of people from diverse backgrounds; demonstrates respect for the opinions and ideas of others. Is flexible regarding scheduling and department changes. Qualifications:# Graduate from an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses. Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing is appropriate to the practice setting. Participates in educational conferences, completes educational in-service and updates and maintains professional knowledge and skills related to areas of practice. Currently licensed in the State of North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Up to date on CPR and CEU#s for practice profession.
