Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Day Shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Ensures physician and hospital department’s satisfaction with the registration department.
  • Maintains a relationship with physicians and physician’s office staff to ensure the department is meeting physician’s expectations.
  • Intercepts all physician and physician’s office staff complaints and responds within 48 hours by phone, mail or visit.
  • Supervises the flow of information between the hospital and physicians’ office staff.
  • Ensures patient satisfaction and staffing levels of the registration department.
  • Coordinates with hospital departments (Imaging, Cardiology, Lab and Same Day Surgery) to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Maintains High Level of staff knowledge.
  • Is responsible for the hiring, training, development and assignment of tasks to the Registrars.
  • Uses progressive counseling to develop employees as necessary.  Demonstrates knowledge of disciplinary action including, but not limited to, Corrective Action Forms.
  • Prepares and presents employee evaluations and in a timely manner. Conducts follow-up sessions with the employee to review progress and provide assistance as needed.
  • Participates in monthly staff meetings.  Minutes and a roster are maintained.
  • Coordinates completion of employee competencies in a timely manner.
  • Prepares, updates and tracks department schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage in practice to include on-call schedules, prn staffing and PDO days for employees.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret and enforce Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and department policies and procedures.
  • Assures staff is knowledgeable about, and complies with, local, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains high levels of employee engagement and job performance by providing recognition and opportunities for learning.
  • Reviews multiple reports daily to ensure proper information is being obtained and sent out of the department.
  • Attends required meetings on a regular basis to gather information to improve processes and all other mandatory in-services and other meetings required by department and hospital.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of department policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to ensure patient and employee Gallup scores meet or exceed hospital goals.  Promotes an atmosphere of open communication for staff at all times.
  • Operates the department in a fiscally responsible manner and in accordance with budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinates closely with the other areas of Patient Financial Services concerning billing, billing compliance, insurance and reimbursement issues.
  • Performs the duties of a staff person as needed and dictated by department workloads.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Patient Access.
  • Maintains professional competence by attending continuing education meetings, in-services, etc. with documentation in personnel file.


What You Will Need:

  • BA degree or equivalent experience required. 
  • Must have a minimum of three years of previous Patient Access experience and two years of supervisory experience. 

Job Summary:

Manages activities and personnel within the Patient Access Department. Supervises and assists staff with patient and / or family interviews to complete the registration process. Assists with the development, implementation and adherence to departmental policies and procedures in order to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
